The Level 3 Commissioned Security Officer Training at 3 Mile Defense is a comprehensive, state-approved program designed for individuals pursuing a career as an armed security professional in Texas. This course meets all Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) requirements and includes both online and in-person components. Participants will complete an in-depth online classroom course covering legal responsibilities, use of force, de-escalation techniques, and firearm safety. Upon successful completion of the online portion and final exam, students are required to attend in-person training, which includes 45 hours of firearm instruction, along with practical hands-on training in pepper spray deployment and tactical handcuffing. This program equips students with the critical skills, certification, and confidence needed to carry a firearm responsibly and work in commissioned security roles across the state. At 3 Mile Defense, we prioritize safety, legal compliance, and real-world readiness. The price of this course does not include the shooting range fees.
